Vimentin

An intermediate filament protein found in the cytoplasm of many eukaryotic cells, particularly those of mesenchymal origin. It provides structural support and maintains cell shape, playing a role in cell migration and adhesion. Vimentin is often used as a marker for cells of mesenchymal lineage in immunohistochemistry.
