Osotriazoles
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008356
A class of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives formed from the oxidation of osazones, which are themselves derived from sugars. The reaction involves cyclization and oxidation of the osazone structure, resulting in a triazole ring substituted with the remainder of the sugar chain. For example, the osazone of glucose can be oxidized with copper(II) sulfate to yield the corresponding osotriazole, a stable crystalline compound.
