P-nucleotides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009058
Palindromic nucleotides that are added to the junctions between V, D, and J gene segments during V(D)J recombination in lymphocytes. These nucleotides are formed by the opening of hairpin structures at the ends of the gene segments. They contribute to the diversity of T-cell receptors and immunoglobulins.
