Paracrystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008435
A material structure exhibiting a degree of order intermediate between that of a perfect crystal and an amorphous solid. In a paracrystal, the atoms or molecules are arranged in a lattice, but with distortions and irregularities that prevent long-range perfect periodicity. This structural arrangement is characterized by a statistical distribution of interatomic distances rather than fixed values.
