Partial agonist
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008477
A ligand that binds to and activates a receptor but produces only a partial response compared to a full agonist, even at saturating concentrations. It possesses both affinity and intrinsic activity, but its maximal efficacy is less than that of a full agonist. These compounds can act as antagonists in the presence of a full agonist.
