Partial ion yield

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008485

The number of ions of a specific type produced per incident particle or unit of sputtered material during a surface analysis experiment. This quantity is used to characterize the ionization efficiency of a particular element or species under given experimental conditions. It is a measure of the sensitivity for detecting a specific ion.
