Volume yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012621
The volume of material sputtered from a sample divided by the number of incident particles, expressed for example in cubic nanometres per ion. It is convenient for organic layers, where molecules fragment easily and the molecular sputtering yield varies much more between samples than the volume yield. The sputtering yield, by contrast, counts the atoms or molecules removed per incident particle.
