Useful ion yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012473
The ratio of the number of detected ions of a specific species to the total number of atoms of that species removed from the sample surface during secondary-ion mass spectrometry. This metric quantifies the efficiency of the ionization and detection process for a particular element. It is a key parameter in determining the sensitivity of surface analysis techniques.
