Perfusate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008633
The fluid pumped into a dialysis or microdialysis probe, which serves as the extraction phase and takes up analytes that diffuse across the probe membrane. The stream leaving the probe, now carrying the analytes, is the dialysate. The perfusate composition is often matched to the sampled medium, for example Ringer's solution for tissue sampling.
