Photoadsorption capacity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008797

The maximal number of entities, whether molecules, atoms or ions, that can be photoadsorbed per regular surface site on a uniformly irradiated adsorbent, written as Nmax divided by the number of surface sites. It is a dimensionless fraction, about 10⁻⁵ to 10⁻³, because only a small share of the surface sites can take part. Amounts per unit area belong to the photoadsorption area number instead.
