Photochemistry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008825
The scientific study of chemical reactions that are initiated by the absorption of light by atoms or molecules. This field investigates how light energy can drive chemical transformations, often leading to different products than thermal reactions. Examples include photosynthesis, vision, and the degradation of plastics by sunlight.
