Polymer gel

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009174

A soft, viscoelastic material consisting of a crosslinked polymer network swollen with a liquid, typically a solvent. The polymer chains are interconnected, forming a three-dimensional structure that traps the liquid within its pores. Polymer gels exhibit properties of both solids and liquids and are used in applications such as superabsorbents and drug delivery.
