Pure shift yielded by chirp excitation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009682

A method in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy that separates chemical shift information from spin-spin coupling interactions. This is achieved by applying a frequency-swept (chirp) pulse during the acquisition of the free induction decay. The resulting spectra display simplified signals, often appearing as single lines for each chemically distinct nucleus.
