Quasi-single-strand polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009777

A linear polymer of regular structure, nameable from its preferred constitutional repeating unit, in which a single atom connects only one terminal subunit of that unit to the next identical unit or to an end group. It is a category in the structure-based naming of regular polymers, defined by how the repeating unit links to its neighbours. It does not imply occasional branching or crosslinking, since the polymer is regular and linear.
