Racemic compound
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009794
A crystalline solid formed from an equimolar mixture of two enantiomers that crystallize together as a single, homogeneous phase. The individual enantiomers are arranged in a regular lattice structure. A racemic compound has physical properties, such as melting point, that differ from those of the pure enantiomers.
