Radical photosubstitution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009855
A photochemical reaction in which a substituent on a molecule is replaced by another group through a mechanism involving radical intermediates. This process is initiated by light absorption, leading to the formation of radicals that then participate in the substitution steps. An example is the photochlorination of alkanes.
