Reduced species
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010050
A chemical entity that has gained electrons or hydrogen atoms, or lost oxygen atoms, in a chemical reaction. This process is known as reduction, resulting in a lower oxidation state for the species. Methane (CH4) is a reduced carbon species compared to carbon dioxide (CO2).
