Regioirregular polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010102

A polymer in which the monomer units are connected in a non-uniform or random head-to-tail, head-to-head, or tail-to-tail fashion along the polymer chain. This lack of regularity in monomer connectivity can affect the polymer's physical properties, such as crystallinity and electronic behavior. It contrasts with a regioregular polymer, which has a defined connectivity pattern.
