Regioregular polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010105

A polymer in which the monomer units are connected in a highly ordered and uniform head-to-tail or head-to-head fashion along the polymer chain. This precise connectivity leads to enhanced crystallinity, improved electronic properties, and better packing in conjugated polymers. Poly(3-hexylthiophene) is a well-known example of a regioregular polymer.
