Resonance effect magnitude
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010245
A measure of the intensity of a resonance line in a Mössbauer spectrum, representing the fractional change in gamma-ray transmission at the peak of the resonance absorption. It is typically expressed as a percentage of the non-resonant background count rate. The magnitude is proportional to the recoilless fraction of the source and absorber, the absorber's effective thickness, and the resonance cross-section.
