Rocket electrophoresis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010396
A quantitative immunoelectrophoretic technique used to determine the concentration of an antigen in a sample. The antigen is electrophoresed into an agarose gel containing a uniform distribution of specific antibodies, forming a precipitate in the shape of a rocket. The height of the rocket-shaped precipitate is directly proportional to the antigen concentration.
