Secondary immune response
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010614
The immune reaction that occurs upon re-exposure to an antigen previously encountered, characterized by a faster onset, higher magnitude, and longer duration compared to the primary response. This enhanced response is mediated by memory B and T lymphocytes, which are generated during the initial exposure. It forms the basis of protective immunity provided by vaccination.
