Segmented flow extraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010663

A liquid-liquid extraction technique performed within a segmented flow system, where an aqueous sample and an immiscible organic solvent are introduced as alternating segments. The two phases are mixed within the segments, allowing for analyte transfer, and then separated for detection. This method is often integrated into automated analytical platforms for continuous sample processing.
