Self inductance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013540
The property of an electrical conductor, such as a coil, to oppose changes in the electric current flowing through it by inducing an electromotive force within itself. This induced voltage is proportional to the rate of change of the current. The unit of self inductance is the henry (H).
