Spectral sensitization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011150
The process of extending the spectral range of a photographic emulsion or other light-sensitive material to longer wavelengths by adding a sensitizing dye. This allows the material to absorb and respond to light that it would not normally detect. It is a key technique in photography and other imaging technologies.
