Spectral sensitivity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011149

The response of a photodetector or other light-sensitive system as a function of the wavelength of the incident radiation. For a spectrophotometrically read chemical actinometer it is the actinometric factor, the product of the actinometer's quantum yield at the excitation wavelength and its molar absorption coefficient at the observation wavelength. A larger product means a larger absorbance change per photon absorbed.
