Chemical actinometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001933
A device or system that measures the intensity of light, particularly in the ultraviolet and visible regions, based on a photochemical reaction with a known quantum yield. The extent of the chemical change, such as the formation or disappearance of a product, is quantified to determine the number of photons absorbed. This method is often used to calibrate light sources or determine reaction quantum yields.
