Spectrometer response function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011161
A curve describing how efficiently a spectrometer registers particles, equal to the count of particles detected divided by the count available to be measured, per unit solid angle and per unit of the dispersing parameter such as kinetic energy, and plotted against that parameter. It folds the transmission of the analyser together with the efficiency of the detector, so it never exceeds the transmission function. Measured intensities are divided by it to give spectra corrected for instrument response.
