Crystal diffraction spectrometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002750
An instrument that uses the diffraction of X-rays or neutrons by a crystal lattice to determine their energy or wavelength. The crystal acts as a grating, dispersing the radiation according to Bragg's law. This device is used in nuclear analytical chemistry to analyze the energy spectra of gamma rays or neutrons emitted from radioactive samples.
