Syndiotactic polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011758
A polymer composed of syndiotactic macromolecules, meaning the substituent groups on successive monomer units along the polymer backbone alternate regularly in their spatial arrangement. This specific stereochemical regularity often leads to crystalline materials with distinct melting points and mechanical properties. Syndiotactic polypropylene is an example of such a polymer.
