Taylor cone
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011835
A cone-shaped deformation of a liquid surface that forms under the influence of an electric field. This shape occurs when the electrostatic forces acting on the liquid surface overcome its surface tension. It is a characteristic feature in electrospray ionization, where ions are emitted from the tip of the cone.
