Th0 cell

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011913

A helper T lymphocyte that has been activated but not yet committed to a subset, so it secretes a broad mix of cytokines such as IL-2, IL-4, and interferon-gamma rather than the restricted profile of Th1 or Th2 cells. It acts as a precursor that can polarize into Th1, Th2, Th17, or regulatory subsets according to the cytokines present. Unlike a naive CD4 cell, which secretes little cytokine before activation, it already produces cytokines.
