Time-independent test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012070
An acute toxicity test that has no fixed end time and instead continues until deaths, or a defined sublethal effect, stop or nearly stop. A plot of median survival time against concentration then levels off at a threshold, or incipient, concentration. Such tests are also called incipient lethality tests, and the plateau is typically reached within about a week to ten days for most chemicals.
