Total suppression of spinning sidebands

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013661

A pulse sequence technique used in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to eliminate spinning sidebands from spectra obtained under magic angle spinning. The method applies a specific series of 180-degree pulses synchronized with the sample's rotation, which refocuses the anisotropic interactions responsible for the sidebands. TOSS is distinct from methods that simply move sideband intensity into the centerband, as it aims to cancel the sidebands entirely.
