Transmission electron energy loss spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012251

A technique used in conjunction with a transmission electron microscope (TEM) to analyze the energy lost by electrons as they pass through a thin sample. This energy loss provides information about the elemental composition, chemical bonding, and electronic structure of the material. It is particularly sensitive to light elements and can achieve high spatial resolution, often down to the atomic scale.
