Tuberoinfundibular pathway
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012342
A neural pathway connecting the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus to the median eminence, playing a key role in regulating the secretion of prolactin from the anterior pituitary gland. Dopamine released from neurons in this pathway inhibits prolactin release. Disruption of this pathway can lead to hyperprolactinemia.
