Ultrafiltrate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012393

The liquid that passes through a semipermeable membrane during ultrafiltration, a process that separates solutes based on size and molecular weight. This fluid is typically depleted of larger molecules, such as proteins and colloids, which are retained by the membrane. It is essentially a solvent containing small solutes.
