Ultramicroelectrode

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012397

An electrode with at least one characteristic dimension, such as its radius or width, in the micrometer or sub-micrometer range. Due to their small size, these electrodes exhibit unique electrochemical properties, including enhanced mass transport rates, reduced ohmic drop, and the ability to perform measurements in highly resistive media. They are widely used in electroanalytical chemistry for high-resolution spatial analysis and rapid measurements.
