Macroelectrode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006865
An electrode with characteristic dimensions, such as radius or length, that are large enough for mass transport to be treated as semi-infinite linear diffusion. The resulting current response over typical electrochemical experiment timescales is not significantly affected by edge diffusion effects. This contrasts with a microelectrode, where the dimensions are small enough that radial diffusion dominates mass transport to the electrode surface.
