Microelectrode

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007317

An electrode with a very small sensing area, typically with dimensions in the micrometer range or smaller. Its small size minimizes ohmic drop, reduces charging currents, and allows for measurements in confined spaces or single cells. Microelectrodes are used in electrochemistry for high spatial resolution analysis and rapid measurements.
