Universal detector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012443
A chromatographic detector that responds to everything leaving the column apart from the mobile phase, rather than to a selected class of compounds. Examples are the thermal conductivity detector in gas chromatography and the refractive index detector in liquid chromatography. Its response factors still differ between compounds, so quantitation needs calibration.
