Uterine crypt
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012475
An invagination or pocket within the uterine lining (endometrium) where the embryo implants and begins its development. These structures provide a specialized microenvironment for the early embryo, facilitating nutrient exchange and attachment. The morphology and depth of uterine crypts can vary among species and influence the success of implantation.
