Worm-like chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012727
A polymer chain model that describes stiff or semi-flexible macromolecules, where the chain can bend but resists sharp turns. It is characterized by a persistence length, which is the length over which the chain's orientation is correlated. This model is often used for biopolymers like DNA and some synthetic polymers.
