Angular overlap model

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000605

A semi-empirical ligand field theory used to describe the bonding in transition metal complexes. It quantifies the interaction between metal d-orbitals and ligand orbitals based on their angular overlap. This model provides parameters that can be correlated with spectroscopic data, such as electronic absorption spectra.
