Zone pH
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012816
The specific pH value within a discrete zone of a separation medium, particularly in techniques like isoelectric focusing or pH-zone-refining chromatography. In these methods, a stable pH gradient is established, and charged molecules migrate until they reach a zone where their net charge is zero, corresponding to their isoelectric point. This pH value is characteristic of the substance that has accumulated in that particular zone.
