Capillary isoelectric focusing

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001607

A high-resolution electrophoretic separation technique performed in a capillary, where analytes are separated based on their isoelectric points. A pH gradient is established within the capillary, and charged molecules migrate until they reach the region where their net charge is zero. This method is particularly effective for separating proteins and peptides.
