Moment

The turning effect produced by a force acting at a distance from a pivot point or axis of rotation. It is calculated as the product of the force magnitude and the perpendicular distance from the pivot to the line of action of the force. Moment is a vector quantity, measured in newton-meters (Nm) in the SI system.
