Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007391

A measure of the tendency of a force to cause rotation about a point or axis, or a statistical measure describing the shape of a distribution. In meteorology, it can refer to the moment of inertia in rotational dynamics or statistical moments like mean, variance, skewness, and kurtosis of atmospheric variables.
