Monochromatic radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007398
Electromagnetic radiation characterized by a single, specific wavelength or a very narrow range of wavelengths. This type of radiation is an idealization, as all real sources emit over a finite spectral band. It is used in atmospheric spectroscopy to analyze the absorption and emission properties of atmospheric constituents at precise wavelengths.
