Phase space
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007895
A multi-dimensional space where each axis represents a degree of freedom of a dynamical system, such as position and momentum for a particle, or state variables for a meteorological model. The state of the system at any given time is represented by a single point in this space. Trajectories within phase space illustrate the evolution of the system over time.
